How many times have you used, or at least heard the phrase: “I’ve got better things to think about?” I know I have used it countless times. Usually the phrase is used in the context: “I am so done thinking about this (negative thought ), and I am going to begin thinking about something better.” It serves as kind a euphemism for the idea – “I am so ‘over’ this conversation or topic!” But honestly, how many people then actually proceed to think about something else? Right?
I talk with my clients about this concept all the time. And the question that I always pose to my clients is: Just what are these better things to think about for you? Interestingly enough many of my clients can’t really answer that question. They know that there certainly are better things to think about, but they have not bothered to stop and think about what those things actually are. And therein lies the problem. Most people could certainly understand the gist of the phrase better things to think about, but unfortunately many people don’t really have a list or a collection of better things to think about.
So in order to help me remember this idea, I came up with the acronym: βeta T3 ∆delta – βetter Things To Think ∆bout. Now, if you are adept at greek, you may be wondering about the delta. That symbol actually has double meaning. The symbol is shaped like a capital A, so it signifies the word About, but the symbol itself is actually the Greek letter delta. This symbol of an equilateral triangle is the universal symbol in math, science and medicine for Change. Thus the full meaning of the acronym is: Better Things To Think About – Change to those now!

When I decided to create a blog, to share my ideas, I decided on an audio blog. My clients actually helped me to make this decision by telling me that they prefer listening to audio over reading text. I totally get that – it’s easier, more convenient, you can do it while driving in a car, going out for a run - there are many advantages.
So I bring my blog to you in audio format: Better Things To Think About!
