Exerciser's Mindset

This series explores strategies for creating an 'execiser's mindset'.  Maintaining an exercise program is difficult because of how the brain works to conserve energy. Learn about the opposing forces in the brain and how to overcome natural resistance to exercise.  You will be amazed at how self-discipline and motivation are constructed by simply infusing well-designed thoughts into the system.

  • Exercise 1 Becoming An Exerciser
    This video is the first in a series designed to explain how to create an exerciser's 'mindset' using cognitive strategies and CAVT technique.
  • Exercise 2 Two Opposing Brain Systems
    This video explores two opposing brain systems, the limbic system (the 'old' brain) and the prefrontal cortex (the 'new' brain), which are at odds with one another when it comes to exercising.
  • Exercise 3 Defeating The Limbic System
    To develop an exerciser's mindset, one must defeat the stronger and faster limbic system by creating a larger arsenal in the prefrontal cortex. This is most effectively done using CAVT.
  • Exercise 4 – Setting The Intention
    This video describes what it means to 'set an intention' when it comes to exercising. A strong intention needs to be 'set' in order to overpower the stronger and faster limbic system. Again, using CAVT is the 'power house' in this process.
  • Exercise 5 - Intentional Selfie
    This tape demonstrates an 'intentional selfie', a short 2 minute video that powerfully 'sets' the intention. Making use of this process is key to building the mindset of an exerciser.

    Think you don't have time to exercise? Guess again. Watch this video to learn how to eliminate that excuse from your collection.

    Exercise is one of the pillars of radical change ~ one of the behaviors that we can expect to yield much more than the sum of its parts. It is the biological insurance plan against the bodily effects of stress.
