C∆VP - Ch∆nge In Your Pocket

Welcome to the page that features my brand new ‘video-book’  C∆VP – Change In Your Pocket .  C∆VP is an acronym that stands for Cognitive Audio Visual Programming, a technique that I have personally developed over the past 15 years.  This book is part history, part biography, part anecdote, part theory and mostly practical application. It is meant to be a book that pretty much tells my entire story – start to finish and explains C∆VP, a process and technique that provides the most practical, efficient, and user-friendly tools for making change really happen. This book explains exactly how it was developed and how it is helping so many of my clients to change their lives.

The goal of this book is to give you, the listener/viewer, the complete story of C∆VP, A to Z. It provides a historical context for my personal journey into therapy, how I got involved doing therapy, how it changed my life, and how this has all translated into the development of a most powerful technique to change just about anything one would want to change.

  • C∆VP Preface

Welcome to the page that features my brand new ‘video-book’  C∆VP – Change In Your Pocket .  C∆VP is an acronym that stands for Cognitive Audio Visual Programming, a technique that I have personally developed over the past 15 years.  This book is part history, part biography, part anecdote, part theory and mostly practical application.

  • C∆VP1 – Overview

Change is hard –  incredibly hard and elusive.  It takes much time and effort.  No wonder people give up.  But … with the right strategy any body can do it.  C∆VP is that strategy – a streamlined, efficient, effective, convenient and user-friendly approach.  C∆VP – Change In You Pocket

  • C∆VP2 – The History
CBT was developed out in the east coast in the 1960’s by the likes of Albert Ellis, Aaron Beck and Donald Meichenbaum.  NLP was developed on the west coast in the 1970s by Richard Bandler and John Grinder, based on the earlier work of Virginia Satir. C∆VP is a blend of these 2 powerful strategies transformed to the digital age
  • C∆VP3 – Dude, You’re a Mess

I believe my buddy's exact words were: "Dude you're a mess - get some help."  Of course, he was right.  But I wasn't really there to get help, I was there to get my buddy off my back and prove counseling was a farce - it all backfired, big time!

  • C∆VP4 – My New Obsession

I hated writing in high school and college, but this was different.  I could get lost for hours in my make believe world – where everything was wonderful, and perfect.  This was quickly becoming my new obsession.

  • C∆VP5 - Getting Inside Their Cell Phones

I quickly realized that cell phones had people’s full attention, my worksheets and their own journals certainly did not.  I remember thinking: Man, I wish I could get inside their cell phone!  How prophetic those words turned out to be.

  • C∆VP6 - How Stuff Works
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to know "How Stuff Works".  When it comes to the human brain, and how to make changes to the program in the system, I really want to know - this is a vital key to making change happen. If you want to change, you need to know this too.
  • C∆VP7 - NB∆ Part 1
This video describes the evolution of a presentation I call 'The Neurobiology of Change (NB∆).  This presentation describes how change happens at the cellular level in the brain. Understanding the inner workings of the human brain is vital to facilitating change.
  • C∆VP8 – NB∆ - Part 2

This is part two of the NB∆ presentation. In this video I explain a critical aspect of the human brain – it's canceling properties. I also explain how to amplify the power of thought. These concepts are absolutely vital to hack the brain’s security system.

  • C∆VP9 - NB∆ - Part 3
This video explores the 2 opposing systems in the brain: The Limbic System and The Cortex System.  You will learn how to leverage the sheer volume of the Cerebral Cortex to over-power the stronger, faster, but much smaller Limbic System.  In the brain ‘Size Really Does Matter’ - the size of the circuit determines which set of thoughts get the attention.  As it turns out, audio and video feeds into the human brain commandeer more horsepower than any other sensory inputs – so we definitely want to put those two processing systems to work in the fight.  C∆VP is the tool that does just that.
  • C∆VP10 - NB∆ - Part 4

Give C∆VP a try - I guarantee that your world will never be the same again.  You will become one of those people who you have been envious of – you know, those people who live their lives doing exactly what they want to be doing.  It feels pretty cool to have people come up to you and ask: Okay, so what is your secret?  It’s a fun secret to share!

  • C∆VP11 - Serendipity
My goal is to break down any barriers that people naturally have to doing something new or different.  The more steps one has to take to actually make something happen, the less likely it is going to happen. If I can simply pull my cell phone out of my pocket, hit play and listen for a minute, I have increased the likelihood by at least 50% that it will actually happen.
  • C∆VP 13 - Bilingual - Learning to Fluently Speak the Language of Lean

I have often said that learning to 'think lean' is no different than learning a new language.  I call this new language 'The Language of Lean'.  Learning this 'language' is every bit as challenging as learning a foreign language - for real.  The twist here is that we really never forget how to speak our 'mother-tongue', which, if you have ever been over-weight is what I refer to as 'The Language of Large'.  In fact, we just have to be bilingual and good at translating between the two.  This video explores this concept and reveals some hidden truths about why conventional diets simply don't work.

  • C∆VP 14 - Net Worth
What is your net worth? But before you answer that question, maybe the better question is: How do you measure net worth? Is it the amount of money you have in the bank? Financial investments? Real estate? Or is there something far more valuable that comprises net worth? This video presents a unique paradigm for measuring net worth.  As it turns out, that path to unfathomable riches might be much different than what you thought it was.
  • C∆VP15 ~ The Biological Insurance Plan
Exercise is one of the pillars of radical change ~ one of the behaviors that we can expect to yield much more than the sum of its parts. We are designed to move, to sweat, and to commune with our physical selves in this active way. Exercise is an antidote for almost everything that ails us. It is the biological insurance plan against the bodily effects of stress.
  • C∆VP16 ~ Stay In Your Lane
C∆VP is a wonderful tool for learning how to stay in your lane.  It is the mental equivalent to Toyota’s ‘lane departure warning system’.  Having the feature on my Highlander actually saves me money on my car insurance, but having the system my my brain ~ now that is priceless.

So why a video-book?  Most people are familiar with the concept of an audiobook, but this book also includes the video of the narrator – which is, of course, me. The concept of video books is not completely original, but it is definitely a pioneering field in digital publishing.  Video books contain text, videos, pictures, music and other media to enhance the listener/viewer’s experience.

I decided on video-book publishing because it just feels so much more personal. Many publishers have narrated their own work, but I chose to both narrate and videotape my own work. To me, it just seems like the best of both worlds. If you are working out or listening in your car, it’s obvious you just don’t watch the video part. But if you choose to watch the video you get to see me telling my story.  Furthermore, I can drop in pictures, captions and music to emphasize key points and enhance the experience.

I have divided the book up into roughly 10-minute video segments or chapters if you will. There are a couple of reasons that I did it this way. First it makes it convenient to listen to one or two chapters at a time and not feel like you have to go back and find the middle of a segment. Secondly, I wanted to create a modular type of book.  By this I mean a book in which it will be easy to select only the chapters that you want to hear or view. And thirdly, it will be easier for me to go back and insert new videos as my collection of ideas grows.

This book is nowhere near complete. I will be adding chapters as I go.  As of this moment in time, I am running a thriving private solo practice. Any writing or videotaping that I do must be sandwiched in amongst the plethora of responsibilities of running a booming private practice. So, rather than waiting until I am all done, which could take some time, I am posting videos/chapters as I get them completed. My goal is to get at least one chapter done per week. So as the viewer you can count on a new chapter appearing weekly.

This ‘video-book’ is in it’s beta version, so please excuse any mistakes you may encounter along the way.  Your comments, or feedback, are always welcome.  Enjoy the book and -  ‘See you on the Changed side!’
